The product is excellent, very good quality and a reasonable price considering the quality. However, Superdry charged me VAT of £3.81. I live in Jersey and we have our own system, which is GST. I emailed for a refund and the reply attempted to school me on our tax system and told me that Superdry had paid the GST. I contacted Jersey Custom and Excise Department who kindly sent me an email confirming that it was impossible for Superdry to pay the GST as they are not registered. I forwarded this email two Superdry and received a refund. Because Superdry are not registered, my item was held up by customs and I then had to fill in an online form to pay £4 to release my item. My concern is how many people in Jersey have been unfairly charged an extra 5% and have not gone to the considerable effort to reclaim it?. Originally posted on www.superdry.com
